What's worse: I have received NO help from this forum. No response from "administrators" or "moderators". Just 0 new messages. If Straight Talk can't handle basic technical support for a customer who just spent $800 with them, for shame. Here is my original post, which I have now posted in more places on this forum than I can count.
Ok well I've tried posting twice already...maybe 3rd (or 5th....??) time is the charm for getting a response from ST. I guess my previous posts have evaporated into subspace or something...because I can't find them ANYwhere, even when I try to "view my posts". It says I have none. SO: here we go for a THIRD TIME. I bought a NEW iPhone 5 DIRECTLY from Walmart...it was SPECIFICALLY FOR StraightTalk. There was no switching of SIM cards or switching of carriers. Basically, I replaced my old ST phone with a new ST iPhone5 (and upgraded from $30/month plan to $45/month plan).
I was able to get the ST service working on the phone by calling the provided number. I was able to activate/set up the phone via my wifi connection at home (and iTunes). I was thrilled. Until I left my house the next morning. As soon as I tried to use the internet (NOT on wifi), the phone says "Could not activate cellular data network, You are not subscribed to a cellular data service". The phone is showing "TFW 3G" on the top toolbar...and there are plenty of service bars. I tried resetting network settings--this did nothing. I have latest update (iOS 6.0.2)...doesn't matter. I can make/receive phone calls/texts, but I can not do ANYthing online unless I'm on a wifi network. It's like I have an $800 iPod 16GB. Not cool ST. I've tried calling customer service. After being transferred 3 different times, the guy I finally ended up with said I should try turning off wifi on the phone (even though I wasn't on a wifi network at the time). This did nothing.
I would appreciate some sort of response or acknowledgment from ST. I keep reading something about having to post "5 times" before getting a response. I'm not sure what the purpose/point of that is, but I'll play ball. Here ya go....X 5.
