Nokia Lumia

Postby smorkle » Wed Aug 20, 2014 6:24 pm

I purchased a nokia lumia 925 to use with Straight talk and it works fine but it is locked to AT&T towers and our land sits in a hole for AT&T. My wife and I have had sprint for several years and there is a roaming signal at our land that we have always been able to use which we assume is Verizon. Well, my wife's sprint contract is just about up and I'm thinking about getting her a new windows phone as well but I'm wanting one that will hit the existing towers that serve our land. I don't want to spend the money on an unlocked Verizon phone if it's not compatible. The BYOP program requires that you know the imei of the phone so I don't know which phones will or wont work. I was looking at the Lumia 928 for her but I've not really made a final decision. Is there a list that shows compatible phones in a generic fashion without knowing the imei? Also, I guess I'm just wondering if straight talk uses Verizon towers at all?

I'm sorry, I don't see the need for a live chat in this situation.

This is a transcript of the answer (or lack thereof) I got to my question via live chat.

Marie: Thank you for visiting Chat Support. My name is Marie. How may I assist you today?

Smorkle: I just had a general question.

Marie: What are your questions?

Smorkle: On my land I have decent roaming service with my sprint phone on what I assume is a verizon tower. If I purchase a verizon phone will it be compatible with the straight talk network and can it hit the verizon towers? I have another ST phone that hits AT&T towers and it gets no service on my land.

Smorkle: I have not purchased a phone so I cant give the imei to be able to tell if it's any good for the network

Marie: Our apology if we can't answer this specific query of yours. Unfortunately, the information regarding the carrier could not be provided in this medium. It would be better if you can give us a call, so we can explain it to you thoroughly. Please contact one of our customer service representatives at 1-855-222-2355. For your convenience, our representatives are available Monday-Sunday from 8:00 A.M. to 11:45 P.M. EST.
