Data, but no text in or out on Nokia Lumia 1520

While it was a completely smooth port of my AT&T number to Straight Talk and data worked on first try, I am at a loss on getting any type of text either in or out. I've tried every setting I can find, starting with the recommended one for How To Update Data settings after plugging in my number, but still no go. I finally did a complete factory reset and still nothing. Any recommendations? Thanks!
