Also the same problem. Bought the iphone5 a couple of days ago at the local Walmart , had it activated , and will not connect to the internet without the WiFi being on. Keeps telling me I have no data plan.I paid far too much for this phone to have to deal with this. If this is not resolved in the next day or two I will be taking this back to the Walmart and getting my money back in order to get an iphone5 with another carrier....hopefully I will have better luck. Sad part is ... always wanted to get an iphone , unfortunately this has really tainted that expectation.
