Unable to send text messages

So I guess I need to create some posts so that I can use the messaging system within this forum. Here's one post. I recieved a Nokia 7690 yesterday and have played with it somewhat. Am happy about a few of the features, but one of the major features I use is text messaging. When I first attempted to send a text message, it popped up with all this funky information about numbers and stuff, being an airhead, I didn't realize what it was, thought it was asking me something totally different, like what my number was or something..not really for sure, I'm sleep deprived at the moment. I've been able to receive text messages but unable to receive them. I'm completely lost and don't know what to do with it, but would really like to be able to use the text messaging on it. Thank you.
