Hi angeljack. My name is Straight Talk John and I will be addressing your query. We are not trying to get rid of using SIM card. This is our new program called "Bring You Own Phone (BYOP)".

The BYOP-Bring Your Own Phone program will allow customers to bring an AT&T, T-Mobile GSM phone or an unlocked domestic GSM phone to Straight Talk or NET10 by simply buying a SIM card from us. In order to activate their service, they will need an Unlimited Airtime PIN or a credit card however this program will NOT work with Blackberry and branded Straight Talk, SafeLink, TracFone and NET10 phones. This will NOT work with CDMA phones as well. Thanks.
