Bad Galaxy S3 signal reception

when I was with Verizon my service signal was great. I switched to ST and my previous Proclaim had flawless reception. But this new Galaxy S3 has terrible signal reception.. I expected better for a $400 phone.
After research I think this phone uses Sprint Towers and if that is true I won't be satisfies with this service..
strongly considering returning phone.. any ideas on how to remeidy this issue. I am in the metro Albany Ga. area.. zips 31707/31763

Straight talk uses AT&T or T mobile for the majority of it's GSM coverage depending on which sim card you have in the device. Spring is not used since I believe they are a CDMA carrier and your phone would have to be comparable with that service where as AT&T/T mobile are GSM primarily used by straight talk.

CDMA phones may have exceptions however I don't believe S3's are CDMA for the most part.

I had a Samsung model number sch-s720c and had great signal 3g and phone signal but I wanted a better phone so I switched to Samsung sg3 it was great at first I could get online stream movies and had no problems than one day last week I lost it now I can't stream movies and takes forever to got anywhere online help please or I will eat the $400 and go somewhere else
