GSM-A coverage instead of CDMA-S

GSM-A coverage instead of CDMA-S

Postby davefuhr » Sun Mar 25, 2012 3:37 pm

I have recently signed up for a Straight Talk account and ported my number.
Everything worked fine in the town where my office is. BUT I live in the country and need GSM-A coverage, not the CDMA-S.
2 questions:
1. can my phone, a Samsong with slide out keypad, switch back and forth between networks?
2. If so, how? If not, what are my options to go to GSM-A coverage?

Hi davefuhr, My name is Straight Talk John and I will be addressing your queries. We're sorry if you're not able to use your phone in a different area. If you have a CDMA phone, it can't be switch to get coverage to a GSM technology. We are not able to do that. Thanks!
