I had some problems with my almost new Andriod phone this weekend, it's working now. But in the process I spoke to the "Android Department" three times. Each time the rep (three different reps) swore to me that my phone would NOT work outside my zip code??? I was very careful ask them, "do you mean that if I travel to another state my phone will not work?" In two cases they responded yes, in the third case the response was "it will not work correctly." ??? The third guy even claimed that my phone will only work with one cell phone tower. He said " that's the difference between pre-paid and contract phones." If I want to use my phone anywhere except at home I need to get a phone with a contract." I explained to him that I had owned pre-paid phones from other companies that worked outside one tower, he said he was speaking of Straighttalk only but refused to say it applied to Straightalk only and kept claiming that was how pre-paid phones work.
I have not travelled out of state yet but I have left my zip code and the phone seems to work fine. Is this true? If not, why does the entire Andriod Department seem to believe this?
