Android Service

Android Service

Postby MCReamer » Tue Feb 14, 2012 6:34 pm

My wife & I have been happy with the straight talk service and prices. We would really like to upgrade to a straight talk android, but the coverage map posted for the android is REALLY limited. Is there any way around this little problem or are there any plans to expand straight talk android service?

Hi MCReamer. My name is StraightTalk Stephanie and I will be addressing your question. The service will actually vary based on your location with the Network. This is the reason why you have less service on the phone. Thanks!

Hi imstolid. Please be informed that the Android service that we provide is based on the network that Sprint Prepaid Network offers. If there is no coverage in the area, then we cannot offer service as well. Thanks!

I think with respect, you guys need a much better coverage map for Android. You have the phones, use Sprint data coverage yet I can't find a good map on your site. How about a map that is either interactive or at least is bigger than 300 or 400 pixels? Just my thoughts.

Thanks for that, it's appreciated. I hope you take into consideration what I'm saying as being helpful. If you look on the main Straight Talk site, it's actually not overly clear about Android phone coverage. Perhaps on your main pages about coverage they could provide a link to the sprint coverage search tool? It's very helpful, but just not easy to track down within Straight Talk. Perhaps you guys aren't allowed to use their coverage tool? Just wondering.

But again, I appreciate the links you sent me. Thanks.

Hi drgirado. My name is StraightTalk Stephanie and I will be addressing your question. We do support the Android phones in the area. Please be informed that we have recently released Android phones under AT&T & Verizon Prepaid Network. The new ZTE Merit Z990G runs off AT&T and the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim runs off Verizon Network. The other Android phones run off Sprint Prepaid Network. You can choose the phone that best works in the area. Thanks!

What Android service can I expect in area code 49738? If it is dependent on Sprint, I won't have much at all. If it is covered by Verizon, I will have good coverage.
