Receiving International Calls

I understand that in order to make an international call one must purchase an additional long distance plan. What about receiving calls? I've purchased long-distance minutes but am still unable to receive international calls?

Hello, I am curious about the same. I have a Samsung Galaxy coming for my son. He is a current Verizon customer but spending $100's on overages each month. His Girlfriend lives in England & when I seen ST went international, it made it a little easier get my son to agree to change. When we seen there were only 2 phones to choose from, that made the decisions a little simpler, of course he wanted the opposite one than what I was just going to order him, since it has the later version of Android- LG. So his Samsung Galaxy Q Android should be here tomorrow & I had to order me a LG Optimus Q, which will arrive next week. Now, I understand he will be able to text his Girlfriend free as soon as his phone is port, BUT I need more information about the calls. Will he be able to make international calls (after purchasing the additional card, of course) AND, will he be able to receive calls from his girlfriend? They do a lot of Skyping, via their laptops, currently. Will they be able to download apps & continue that, through his new phone? (What would the App be) & I am uncertain of her phone- would they have the ability for him to be skyping through his phone's Web & she be on her laptop? And will he be able to call England & receive calls from England via his Samsung Galaxy Skype? Thank You!
