You are roaming messages - unable to make calls

I been a ST customer for 6 years with two BYOP iPhones. They are identical iPhones. Two days ago my wife’s iPhone started getting the dreaded “You Are Roaming messages when trying to make outgoing calls. Txt messages works fine. LTE data works fine. Any incoming phone call goes directly to voice mail. I drove to the nearest cell phone tower to get Four bars and I still cannot make calls. I get the You Are Roaming each time. I spent five hours with Straight Talk tech support. I’ve gone over all the steps with different techs but nobody can help. I even had three techs hang up on me.

Why do so many people keep having this same issue over and over again with ST.
