The Dropped Call and No Data Conundrum

The Dropped Call and No Data Conundrum

Postby malcolmlee » Fri Dec 12, 2014 1:44 pm

Ever since I started using my new AT&T 4G micro sim in my iPhone, I have had nothing but dropped calls, data issues and disappointment.

After being a reasonable customer for several years despite service and data issues, this is extremely frustrating. Especially since I have tried all the basics such as restarting, updating to the latest OS, turning off 4G completely and turning off/on cellular data. I'm a pretty patient person especially since I've worked technical support before and understand how frustrating PRESS A BUTTON AND FIX IT customers are. So I troubleshooted, adjusted the way my hands held the phone, took out/put back in my sim card and after everything, almost every phone call is dropped and I don't even know what cellular data is anymore.

The scenario:
I will start the call with three bars and within seconds I will watch the bars slowly drop to one and quickly the person on the other line is mentioning that I sound choppy and like a robot.

After running around my house for 10 minutes, I give up and end the call.

At first when this started happening I thought to myself "Well maybe it's just an issue when I am at home", no big deal. I have this new flashy phone and maybe it just needs to get used to the ST network. Wrong.

It happens everywhere.

The Data Scenario:
After having ST phones for several years, I have been used to slow data speeds but not on this level. I can't check Facebook, the news, download any apps or a single song, nothing. It has gotten to the point to where I literally ask every establishment if they have wifi because I practically have no data service.
