Straight talk service cuts out in rural alaska

I'm using a Nexus 5 with the AT&T network plan. I normally live in Seattle, but work winters with a 6 week on, 3 week off schedule in rural, arctic alaska. When I was in anchorage for a few days I had coverage, and on my way up to Barrow (the town I work in), I had coverage in the following locations: Fairbanks and Deadhorse. However, when I got to Barrow, my coverage cut out. AT&T has coverage here, and other people I know have straighttalk phones and they work, however, they are 'dumb phones' with out data coverage.

I can go into the mobile networks settings, and force it to get on AT&T's network, but after about a minute it cuts out and says no service. I've turned data off and switched APN's, but dont know what else to do. Any help? Thanks

I am in a similar situation. I am in Barrow for a week and have no cell service. My work phone is AT&T and it gets search. But, my straightalk does not. I do get service in Fairbanksand deadhorse alaska. Please assist as it would be great to maintainccell service the week I'm up here.
