View Our Service Area Map

I have heard that different straight talk phones use towers from different cell phone companies. My first straight talk phone was a simple LG flip phone that did not even have a camera. I really didn't notice any difference between the service area on this phone and my previous Verizon phones. I decided to upgrade, or so I thought, to the LG Optimus Q. I had heard that the straight talk smart phones use Sprint towers, but I tried it anyway because I had not had any problems with my previous ST phone. With the LG Optimus Q, I rarely had signal and my calls were dropped often. Sometimes it would take days for me to receive a message that someone had sent to me. Finally, I resorted to my old ST phone just so I would stop wasting money on a phone that rarely seemed to work. Was it really worth my time to make the switch from Verizon to ST to avoid all the random fees that seemed to appear on every bill? At least my Verizon phones worked the majority of the time. Is it clearly stated anywhere about which phones use which towers? It is extremely frustrating to determine which phone to buy whenever you are not sure if it will be dependable or not. Please help!!!

I have a question, it seems that my ability to send picture messages has gone completely. I have texting, callings, 4 full bars, and "4G" data coming in on the phone currently, I traveled out of my home area to 29406 yesterday for a trip. Why do I have all the service in the world EXCEPT MMS? I have a BYOP t-mobile samsumng exhibit II that was sending and receiving text messages fine.

WHat is the issue?

Does anyone know whether there is any Straight Talk coverage along border areas with Canada and Mexico? For example, if I were to cross the border at Nogales, AZ, into Nogales, Mexico, would I still be able to make/receive calls? Since there is no roaming, I'm thinking that there would not be any extra charge, just that the call would either go through or not, depending on if there is coverage?
