"You Are Roaming" Messages - Unable to make calls

I am also having this problem. I have a galaxy s5 (Verizon edition) and have been using it with straight talk for about 3 months without any issues. As of today all calls I try to make result in the "you are roaming..." message. This almost caused me some major problems today.

It looks like this problem still hasn't been fixed since my original post, and that I'm not the only one with this issue. I feel like I've had less of a problem in the past couple months with it in that it seems that when I get outside the building or the area where it says I'm roaming it seems to switch back better to the straight talk service without going in and out of airplane mode. Its interesting that Straight Talk doesn't post anything about this issue except "take this issue offline so we can chat" responses. I don't know about the rest of you, but all that leads to is having a representative walk you through removing your battery from your phone and restarting it. No solutions. Today I had this happen to me at my home which has never happened before. My wife and I are trying to decide this week if I'm going to stick with ST or go with another carrier, and before this morning I would have stayed, but this issue is annoying.

Unfortunately I won't have an answer on the resolution of this for all of you. I got a good deal on switching to a standard carrier so I'm in the process of porting my number from Straight Talk to a new phone.

Its kinda sad because I was happy with the service except for this issue. Customer service repeatedly telling people to chat with them in a private message isn't the way, in my opinion, to handle a widespread problem with your service. At a minimum you could post instructions here on what YOU believe will solve the issues (taking the battery out and rebooting phone) for people to try first. This way people can do their own troubleshooting before they waste an hour or two on a chat or phone call. I hope that this issue does get resolved and maybe someday I'll be back.
