Arizona coverage

Postby arcticgirl » Mon Sep 24, 2012 3:37 pm

Hi, My husband has a Verizon contract phone that gets great 3G coverage from our home. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (ATT phone) and would like to get a Straight Talk plan. I heard that Straight Talk uses Verizon towers where we are. Will I get the same coverage that he does? We live in Williams, Arizona and travel to Flagstaff a lot. Thanks.

Hi arcticgirl. My name is Straight Talk Stephanie. If you will use the Samsung Galaxy S2 (AT&T)under the BYOP program, it will connect with the AT&T tower. If you want to have a phone that will be connected to Verizon network, you will need to purchase a Straight Talk phone that runs off Verizon network. The Samsung Galaxy Proclaim, Samsung Galaxy S Showcase, and LG Optimus Zip run off Verizon Prepaid Network. Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. I really like my Samsung Galaxy SII. If I get it unlocked would it work then? I notice when I type in my Arizona address on the Straight Talk website, that phone is an option to buy. Would that one work on the Verizon network? If I buy a used Samsung Galaxy SII that was used on Verizon, could I use that with Straight Talk and get the Verizon network? Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

Hi arcticgirl. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is a GSM phone. If you will use your current Samsung Galaxy S2 phone with AT&T under the BYOP program, it will also connect with AT&T network. We also offer that phone model and it runs off the same tower. This phone will not connect with Verizon network. The BYOP program supports only AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Thanks!
