I thought something was wrong with my Nexus One hardware after trying so many different ROMs (CM7.2, MIUI 2.8.10, etc) since 3G data connection wouldn't work. I kept on getting the "Arrow up" problem of not be able to upload data. I tried changing the APN too but still no luck. Then it hit me that I should check the SIM card. By switching SIM cards with my friend I was able to get 3G service working again. My friend's SIM card is with T-Mobile and not the StraightTalk MVNO t-Mobile one. I was able to use the tracfone and actual t-mobile APNs to get 3G working.
1) The SIM card is messed up, 2) StraightTalk put some kind of red flag on my account even though I'm not a heavy data user since I'm usually connected to wifi, or 3) StraightTalk has some kind of problem with its 3G service agreement with T-Mobile for my area. 2G service works fine.
The most upsetting thing was the 1 hour of wasted time on the phone with customer service who treated me like an idiot when I already did everything they asked of me ahead of time. I told them what the problem was and that it occurred 2 days ago but I still get the stupid moron treatment and tepid responses.
Has anyone ever had this problem before or recently?
