Searching for Service

Searching for Service

Postby KiYoyoZ » Tue Jul 31, 2012 3:19 pm

I am on vacation with my parents and can't get service on my straighttalk phone. Both my parents and I all have prepaid phones thru straighttalk, and their phones both have service, but mine does not. I have the new Android LG with the keyboard. Can someone please help me get it working or at least explain to me how they can get service and I cannot? Because this is not the first area this has happened in.

Hi KiYoyoZ. My name is StraightTalk Elle. Coverage is not really available everywhere and service may be temporarily interrupted or limited due to system capacity limitation or technology migration imposed by the Carrier. Or, because of the equipment modifications, upgrades, repairs or relocations to improve the Carrier’s telephone system. Thus, some of the phone’s functionality will not work properly especially if you are outside your activation zip code or your local calling area. Hope this helps. Let me know. Thanks.

Yea I just got finished looking at the coverage area map for Android and Non Android phones. I didn't realize when I bought it that there are different coverage areas for different straighttalk phones. Is it because of the antennas inside the phone? Or would it be the same if I bought an antenna booster for my Android?

Hi KiYoyoZ. Antenna Booster may help though, but to its certain limitations. The phone's network connection will still vary based on the phone's location with the network and some factors mentioned below. Thanks!

Your best bet is getting a cheap Iphone 3 off ebay. Got mine for 40 bucks.
