No SIM Card (BYOP plan)

I purchased the bring your own phone kit back in january and have been using it since then. Every now and then it will pop up that I have no sim card and then it will go back to normal, however the past few days ( about 5 days) it has been constantly popping up that there is no sim card in my phone. I never had this issue until I purchased the sim card from straight talk. Now im basically paying for service that I cannot use because the no sim card message will not go away. I've tried taking the sim card out and reinsertting it, ive tried restarting the phone nothing works it just comes back when it feels like it. It will come back for about 20 minutes here and there and then go away again. I have an HTC Droid DNA.
