In other words, does a ST phone only work in your home zip code area or are you able to have nationwide coverage (for the most part according to the coverage map) away from your local zip code you activated the phone in? If it helps, my home zip is 62401, work zip is 61938 and go to visit family in 62448. What type of phone, CDMA or GSM, is going to get me coverage in all 3 of these areas? Thanks
Examples that I found that pertain to this problem include:
Off the Walmart website:
I just bought this to save money and it works. Now I went to visit family 4 1/2 hrs away and even with signal bars the phone is not working.
Q:
The area I am in carries the same phone and the coverage map shows that it should work here. I called customer service and he told me I would have to change my zip code and get a new number. Really? Anyone have a suggestion? I have had trac phones before and have had no problem like this before in the same area...
