Roaming (BYOD) ATT

I have called Customer Services and spoken to many reps.. I get different answers but they all say basically that there is no roaming.

I have read the terms of service, I have even read here in the forums and other sites as well; there IS roaming on gsm.

Why am I bringing this up? Because, like everyone else here in the forum, I live in a different area and before I port out (which causes my account to cancel at ATT) I want some answers that are solid and not inconsistent.

I live in South East Kansas, this area for the most part is Native ATT, but there is COMNET and Tmobile that operates the A/B side when you need to roam offnet.

My question is specific to US-69, north of Pittsburg, Ks and South of Olathe, Ks.... A good small town right in the middle of this 1 1/2 hr travel to Kansas CIty is a town called Pleasanton, KS 66075.... I know for a FACT that Tmobile ST works there fine... But Customer service tells me that if you have a ATT sim it will not work..

Now, this is why I have a problem... According to the customer service, there is NO ROAMING.. I specifically asked about this area and I also specifically stated that the service DOES allow roaming. I said that DATA services do not work in ROAMING but SMS/VOICE DID.. They said "yes"... I then said this makes no sense... How can my ATT GSM (Home SIM) be able to roam but not be able to roam?....

I hung up, I am frustrated... WE ALL understand that ATT prepaid services (GoPhone) are just like all other prepaid.. Prepaid does not allow you to use anthing but Native network... But Straight Talk, Net10 are different, they to my understanding are allowing you to ROAM with Voice and SMS... Which is why I am wanting to move.. It makes sense, I have seen personally that ATT gets very upset at using data "offnet" and doing so will cause you to loose your account...

I am willing to loose DATA while roaming, I just need voice and sms to work... I love the price and ability that I understand ST/N10 is offering but I cannot get a straight answer.. Customer Service (albeit is nice) is ignorant and lacks knowledge and is the worst part of trying to feel comfortable enough to switch.

STRAIGHT TALK: QUESTION: CAN I ROAM ? CAN I ROAM ON US-69 NORTH OF PITTSBURG KS TO OLATHE KS ? if I can, I will buy three annuals immediately!
