Can't Download Apps

Hello,

I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim and am trying to install applications. When I try to install them, nothing happens. Another interesting thing, when I use go to google play, my phone is recognized as the At&t ZTE ZTE z990 which is a completely another phone. My phone is also running of the Verizon network. Is the lack of downloads because my phone is being recognized as another phone? Or is there some settings that I need to change. I allowed my phone to download apps from unknown sources, which was not the factory default. Still no results.
