Is it possible to download free ringtones and what are the best sites to go to?

I have yet to find a free site with decent ringtones, I make my own then download them to my phone.

There are several sites that allow you to turn music you already own into ringtones. You can even do it for iphones.

There's a free ringtone app if that's an option for you. Otherwise, before I upgraded my phone I searched for free ringtones and entered my phone and model along with straight talk in the search box. It was a tedious process as I made the ringtone on my comp, then was texted a link which I opened with my phone in order for my phone to receive the ringtone. But, it was free!!

Try zedge. It's free in the market/play store and ringtones are definitely free. :D

I have always made my own. I use Audacity on a Linux box and rip any music into a MP3. Then using Audacity again, I pick out the part I want and make a small enough MP3 for the ringtone. I hook up the phone via USB and just load it to the chip. My android phone is able to find it and I can use it as a ringtone :)
