Recently I bought a BYOP kit for my girlfriend for her iphone 5s . For the last couple days we have been trying to get this phone to work for her. First we had trouble trying to get the thing activated when we tried to do this online. After calling for support they were able to get the phone activated, but the phone doesnt fully work. Right now you still cant txt with the phone and if you try and make a call, you get a recording saying to buy an american pin ??? Before getting on this forum , we tried calling customer service, tonight alone got transfered to 3 different people and no one was able to fix the issue. I noticed on this forum that other people have had the same problem and by looking at the dates of the post it looks like this has been a ongoing problem for sometime now. Is there a solution to this ??? It seemed like all the support techs that we talked to had no idea what the problem was or how to fix it, everytime they transfered us to another support technician they had us do the same things to the phone. Now I know from reading previous post that we were not the first person this has happened too, but i havent seen if anyone got theirs fixed. I know that the customer support techs need to communicate with each other before they have you do the same thing over and over to your phone to fix it with no results. The last tech that we spoke to said that the problem was the sim card, its a brand new card I just bought !! They said they would send us a new card and we would have it in two days, well what is she to do until then without a phone ??? If I would of know there were problems like this with Straight Talk and Tracfone I would of got a BYOP kit from another cell phone carrier !!! If anyone knows a solution on how to fix the problem with the phone PLEASE let me know. AS far as the problems with the customer support at STRAIGHT TALK and TRACFONE , someone needs to teach them how good customer service is provided.
