Loss of service

Loss of service

I tend to experience a loss of service while I am in a hospital. In the waiting room I noticed those using their phones had no issue. I also experience this while driving home from work (its a 50 mile drive for me). Is there a setting somewhere I am not seeing that will allow me to keep my service active? I have the ip4. Thank you!
