My Galaxy Core Prime is still on Android 4.4.4, Software update says that "The latest updates have already been installed!!

Hi DZ1992. My name is Straight Talk Felice. Our phones are locked. The Android Operating System cannot be upgraded to a higher version. It has been branded or modified on our service. If you wish to upgrade it to a higher version, although we don't recommend it, then this will be at your sole risk. Straight Talk Wireless is not held responsible for any service interruption due to modifications done using a third party software program. Please check your Forum inbox for further assistance.

My LG Stylo2 is still at ver 5.5.5 - is there any way to attempt an update before purchasing a new phone - It has been able to do all that I ask but I would like to take better advantage of the extra storage and memory. Thanks! -Rick-
