SIM card

Ok so i have a samsung galaxy s3. I only bought an sd card. Do i need to get a SIM card too? I guess im a little lost when it comes to that. Ive never needed a SIM card before. And what does that do and effect?

Hi gypsyluv75. The SD memory card is to increase phone memory storage. You need to buy a Bring Your Own Phone SIM card if you wish to use a GSM phone that is compatible with AT&T or T-Mobile. Please visit http://www.straighttalkbyop.com for program details. Thanks.
