galaxy phone less than 3 months old...won't charge

Help...any suggestions
It always got really hot when I charged it but would hold the charge all day...last sat. I had nowhere to plug in so it drained...when I got to plug it wouldn't charge...and on occasion would say needed to reboot system....then on sun it wouldn't even turn on while plugged in...no response at all...monday i got it to take a bit of a charge by wiggling the wire where it connects to the phone but as soon as I unplugged and used for 2 min. drained...Tues, when it would turn on (while plugged in) it kept saying something about push volumn up to accept new OS and down to ignore, don't know what that was about...today I got it to charge up to 37% but again within 5 min. of unplug dead...still have to wiggle the plugin to get it to say it is charging and it will vibrate and flash that I need to plug in....
