Hello, I've been using Straight Talk for the longest time now. When through several phones and numbers from ST; until one day in May I bought an unlocked phone from Samsung and a T-mobile SIM card. I activated and setup everything with ease (although I made a mistake in the setup and had to buy a service plan for the second time on the same day...waste. of. money) and continued using the service for the next 3 months from that day.
I had to discontinue the service because I didn't have any money to pay for the plan anymore. I knew my account would be deactivated, but I figured a simple reactivation would be needed to get the ball rolling again. So I think after about 4 or 5 months of deactivation, I finally got my hands on some cash and decided to reactivate my SIM card. I bought a $45 Unlimited Plan card at WalMart and entered the PIN during the activation process. I jumped for joy when the confirmation page showed up, giving me instructions for my APN settings, which I had already set and reviewed. The next thing was to restart my phone, wait and make a test call. And I did all of that, but when I tried to make the test call a pop-up message came up and said 'Not registered on network'. Also noting that the 'Home' signal that would usually be in my notification bar wasn't there, letting me know that the service was NOT activated yet. So I went to my Summary Page to check up on the SIM card activation status. The message under the SIM card picture read 'Activation in Progress'. I clicked on the link and did everything in the instructions over and over and over again. But still nothing changed...even after over 24 hours.
After a bit of research, I found that people that went through the same situation as I did had to buy a new SIM card because the one they weren't using was totally deactivated and couldn't be used again! Knowing this made me realize that if this were the case then that meant I would have to buy a new SIM card and ANOTHER $45 Unlimited Plan card! I can't afford to buy another service card or SIM card at the moment, and I really need my phone service to work!!! Please help! Someone tell me that I can still use this SIM card and that Straight Talk can activate it. Seeing that the status still says 'Activation in Progress' let's me know that something is working on getting my SIM card to activate and that it will soon. Or is that all on me? Will I have to scavenger hunt for more cash to buy another service plan card for a new SIM card?
