Help

Postby baldbeauty » Wed Jul 04, 2012 11:16 pm

I have been a Straight Talk customer for about 5 years now and planned on remaining one for the foreseeable future.
I recently upgraded to a smartphone (ZTE merit) but wasn't aware that it didn't use the Verizon network and as a result it wan't able to provide the coverage and service I needed.
After some research, I decided to purchase the Samasung Galaxy Proclaim (because it uses Verizon), however, I couldn't purchase it on ST or Walmart sites, so orderedfrom Amazon.
The phone arrived a couple of days ago, but was in a NEt10 box which is a problem because I planned on continuing to use ST.
I already returned the ZTE Merit and can't continue to go without a cell as I need it for work, but instead of shelling out $50 for a month of unlimited Net10 service , I'd like to use up the unlimited month of ST service I recently spent $45 dollars on. I bought that $45 card expecting to be able to use it on the Galaxy proclaim which I thought would work on ST.
Aaaauuuuuggghhhh
Can anyone help

Hi baldbeauty. My name is Straight Talk Lindsay. We are sorry for the trouble. Please be advised that Net10 branded phones will not work with Straight Talk service. Thanks.

Thanks for responding. I am confused though as I have had reps start a chat with me while on your site and most recently, I expressed an interest in the Samsung phone and the rep offered to sell me a Net10 Galaxy Proclaim while on the Straight Talk site. I declined at the time because I w wanted to find one that could be usused on ST so as not to waste my minutes

Hi baldbeauty. My name is Jessica_ST and I'll continue to address your concern. Though NET10 and Straight are owned by the same company, the programming, process and rates of each phone are totally different that's why plans can never be transferred to either phone. We can only transfer the phone number but the plans are non transferrable from NET10 to Straight Talk phones. Thank you.
