Will an LG 3 droid work with Straighttalk BYOP?

Hello Folks, I have an LG Droid 3 that has been used with a Verizon account. A friend is giving the phone to me
if I can use it with Straight Talk. I currently have a Samsung old style phone with Straight Talk Service for the past two years,.. it's been great! But I need a smartphone now. Will the LG Droid 3 work for me in your bring your own phone plan? Thanks so so much! rsdrdogdiva
