S6 issue receiving and sending texts!

My s6 which is brand new unlocked from verizon and wont recieve texts and or send sometimes and maybe takes hours to receive texts. The only way i can resolve the issue is to *73 dial than i start get bombarded with text messages. I have tried 2 different sim cards and same issue. this might work for a day or more than someone will ask if i receive there texts from a few hours ago and i wont until i dial *73. Tech service is of no help other than they say restart your phone or keep dialing*73.
