Iphone 3GS unable to send text to Verizon users

I just switched my phone to straight talk and set the APN settings to what straight talk has posted and I'm able to send and receive text from people on Att and T mobile network but my family are on verizon and I am able to receive but but send any messages back to them. I have tried everything I've read online and still no luck.
