Iphone 4 data does not work

Hi I have purchased microsim card from straight talk and activated that sim card for unlimited talk, text and data plan. I am able to make and receive calls but data does not work. On my Iphone 4 (AT&T) there is no option to change APN settings. please help me how to make data part work?

Hi donpatel2786. My name is Straight Talk John and I will try to help you with your query. Please check your phone manual or manufaturer on how to go to you APN Settings. Once you are able to locate the APN Settings, please update it to Straight Talk value. Please refer below:

1. Create a new APN with the following values:
• APN Name: Straight Talk (or NET10)
• APN: att.mvno
• Proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
• Port: 80
• MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
• MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
• MMS Port: 80
2. Delete the current APN from your phone.
3. Reboot the phone.

John, I dont see APN setting anywhere. All I have is VPN setting. How do I get in to APN settings?... Thanks.

If you google it you'll find info to download a thing to be able to change those but you still will not be able to get mms unless you jailbreak your iphone. Straight talk failed to say anything about this when I asked and when I called they pretty much told me to call apple. But when I asked on ST Facebook page they said it would work. So now a few hundred later I can't get mms and st has no clue. I don't want to jailbreak my iPhone that makes me nervous!

Sounds like your iPhone is locked. My 3GS is, too, which means that we cannot see the menu that lets you change APN (Settings -> General -> Network -> Cellular Data Network).

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to talk about specific sites or methods here, but speaking in broad terms, you can change your APN settings on either a jail-broken or non-jail-broken phone. You just need to edit a couple of files with a software package that allows you to open up iTunes-based iPhone backup files.

As for actual values to use, a good place to start is to look for either iphone mms or iphone straight talk data not working. John also gives these below.

This should get you working with wireless data. MMS is an entirely different thing.
