Thanks lenciso! You really helped by posting the ordeal that you went through. Erasing all data and settings and doing a fresh restart worked for me. Now I have full 3G data and MMS after it not working at all.

I bought mine from Walmart (16 Gig) for 649. Check Walmarts site. A bit expensive but I would expect that for it being unsubsidized. It is the same price on Apples site for no contract. And the plus is you get the A1429 which works on both Verizon and AT&T. So you'll be able to use it on either network. I think it is a great deal. Let me know if you have questions.

Glad it worked for you. Can you tell what you had to do? Did you just have to erase all data and settings or did you just reset all settings? Also if your using an APN changer can you not what service you're using? I'd like to try to change this from "This is ST_**** I've sent you a PM to assist you off line..." to a help others with what you've learned and how you have your phone set up. Seems like it would be must faster for customers to ask and search as apposed to contacting support.

Yes I agree. I first tried 'Reset All Settings' and that didn't work. So what I had to do was go to 'Erase All Data and Settings.' After that I restored my iPhone 5 with the backup I created in iTunes.Upon restoring my phone, data and mms worked perfectly fine with no APN changer whatsoever. I bought my iPhone 5 from Walmart for Straight Talk so apparently there isn't an APN changer required for iPhone 5's bought from Walmart. I hope that can help anyone else who is having this problem and has to deal with Straight Talk's "customer service."

Keep getting the message that I am not subscribed to a cellular data plan. Why are they advertising the iPhone 5 for if they can't even support it correctly, and what are we paying for if the data isn't working. They need to fix this ASAP.

Hi Cyclone, How were you able to get your iPhone 4 data working? Did you have to do anything differently? I suppose that same thing needs to be done to the iPhone 5 for data to work. I have an iPhone 4s I have successfully used on Straight Talk since Sept/2012. I was advised by Straight Talk support to "Jailbreak" my device. I did not want to do this. I found other options that have made Data/MMS work. I wonder if you can apply those same options on the iPhone 5 for Data/MMS to function? Is anyone having MMS problems with the NEW iPhone 5 or is it just with the Data?

Thanks
Garth

I had problems with MMS as well as data with the iPhone 5, but with my iPhone 4 I was never able to get MMS to work. It was an AT&T locked iPhone, however I was able to get that data to work. For the data to work on the iPhone 4, I had to also erase all data and settings and restore the device with a backup after that. Then, I still needed to use an APN changer, namely http://unlockit.co.nz. Access that from Safari using Wi-Fi. I used att.mvno as the APN source through that changer, and that's how I was able to use data. I hope that might help, because you shouldn't be forced to jailbreak your phone.

Thanks guys for giving those updates. I figure if we keep this thread fresh it will help many other users. I have another issue right now with the iOS 6.1 which goes back to no data. So don't update until we figure out the fix for everyone.

I can't believe there's more problems with the new software update. I hope Straight Talk gets their act together.

I did this probably 4-5 times. At one point, it worked briefly when I had a ST rep on the phone. Of course it stopped shortly after hanging up. I've since done the same thing another 4-5 times and no dice.
