SIM cards for compatible phones?

So I was so excited to be able to use my iPhone 3gs... Apparently my zip code sucks and I cant get the sim nor do the andriod phones that straight talk sells work in my zip code. Was wondering if anyone can tell me if my zip of 59860 will ever have awesome features like the sim or if I should follow everyone I know and start looking for somethong else?
