3g is slow

3g is slow

Postby eugenya » Sun Nov 04, 2012 3:17 pm

Hi!

My 3g is very slow and keeps switching into H. It first, I thought it may be because of throttling.... I but only used 5 gb of data last month. Besides, Internet is still slow this month. I also thought that maybe I was next to a bad tower. But it's consistently slow in various places in PA,and NC... Can't be that many bad towers, can there?

I just tried to demonstrate Straight Talk to my parents and brother. It was really embarrassing... and I guess you guys just lost 3 potential customers.

Please don't PM me or "take this issue offline"... I want to have this discussion right where others can read it.

By slow...we mean like non-existant! In the past two weeks I have experienced with my ZTE merit the following: Screen has full bars, they are green, 3G is lit up, I open the browser the find "access forbidden". I restart the phone and I attempt to reaccess the browser...it opens...very slowly. I go to search a website and get the following "Bad data request". I have reset the phone twice. Once I get online, I have data connection speeds that my old 2G phone could beat. The speedtest app from the google store rated the phone at less than 370kb. That is dial up speed from the early 90's! Please tell me why my phone can't use the data that I am paying for? I cant even use the GMAIL app to check my email. Lay it out honestly...what gives?

You have been throttled by straight talk .... if you use over a certain amount of data (people say it is about 2 gig limit), then straight talk's system will automatically reduce your 3g or 4g speed down to next to nothing ....

many people are finding this out. Customer service will do a reset of your account and then you will be ok for a day or two but then back to no speed.... other people are saying that your speed really won't be back to normal until your next billing cycle.

It also depends on the phone you are using and if 4g speeds are available.
