zte merit

Postby sierrapassion » Mon Jul 02, 2012 8:10 am

Hi, I am considering switching from Verizon to Straight Talk. The only decent coverage in my area is Verizon with AT&T & Sprint being very marginal. When I go online to shop to for a phone http://www.straighttalk.com/ShopPhones, the only Andriod SMartphone that comes up for my zip code is the zte merit. Is the ZTE Merit for Straight Talk run on the Verizon network, so would I have the same good coverage with Straight Talk that I have with now with Verizon? Also, on phone models, what is the meaning of nomenclature LETTER "G", "C" or no letter for the phones .. i.e LG 420G, LG 100C, ZTE Merit™. Is the "G" = GSM as in AT&T?, "C" = Sprint?, no letter = Verizon? Thanks for your help in making an informed decision to possibly switch to Straight Talk.

Hi sierrapassion. My name is StraightTalk Stephanie and I will be addressing your question. The ZTE Merit runs off AT&T network. It is on AT&T or T-Mobile if your phone model ends with G (GSM), Verizon if it ends with C (CDMA). If you have the Android phone, it is on Sprint except the ZTE Merit which runs off AT&T network and the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim which runs off Verizon Prepaid Network. Thanks!

I bought the Samsung Proclaim from ST before they sold out, it runs on Verizon and is an excellent phone. It is now available at Net10 for the same price. ST and Net10 both owned by TracPhone
