need to reset my LG sunrise but killswitch wont let me

I got a LG sunrise tracfone from a friends girlfriend but forgot to reset it or give me the password. now im stuck with this phone but have no way of using it, if anyone knows how to bypass the killswitch problem that would be very helpful
