LG Optimus caught in loop

My phone decided to have a mind of its own today. I used it this morning with no issues. Later, I pulled the phone out and it is caught in a booting loop. It starts with the LG then goes to "Service by Tracphone" screen. Then it just keeps restarting. I have tried to do a hard reset, but am unable to do so. I am starting to guess that there is no hard reset and/or recovery partition. Anyone with ideas?
