LGL34C Optimus Fuel stuck in boot loop

LGL34C Optimus Fuel stuck in boot loop

Postby jplee3 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 2:50 pm

Hi all,

I recently picked up a prepaid Straighttalk Optimus Fuel (LGL34C) from Walmart a few weeks ago and just last night it appears to have died. My wife said it was acting strange all day too. Now when I try to start it up it just gets stuck at the screen with the "LG" logo and the home/menu button in the middle glows different colors. There was one point where I got to the blue screen with Tracfone logo but nothing happened beyond that and I also haven't gotten back to that screen since.

I've tried multiple things to get it back, such as holding the vol-down + power button and also vol-down + home/middle button + power button all trying to do this both before inserting the battery as well as after. And waiting 5-15 seconds between each, as well as all the combinations of holding certain buttons and releasing others, etc. It seems like the phone is just stuck as is.

Any ideas on how to remedy this? Is the hardware bad, requiring an exchange?

Thanks, I chatted with an operator but she wasted almost an hour of my time troubleshooting the phone, getting MEID/SNs, and asking pointless questions that have already been confirmed to show that the phone is defective, before telling me that StraightTalk is not supported in my area. I don't believe this as the coverage map *clearly* indicates that there is covrage- http://www.straighttalk.com/wps/portal/ ... rvicearea/

StraightTalk is an MVNO of Verizon Wireless, which I can attest to provides service to Southern California as well as Northern California. I provided 2 zipcodes to the representative in Southern California as well as 1 in Northern California and she claimed that there is absolutely no coverage for either of those zip codes.

She proceed to change her statement to "they just don't work as well" when I pointed out that STW is an MVNO of Verizon Wireless. I also asked why my local retailer, in the same Southern California zipcode, would sell a phone for a provider with whom there is no local coverage.

Her answers made no sense and it sounded more like she was frustrated and wanted to end the chat (which I did because I was frustrated).

Can we please resolve this another way? She offered for me to send the phone in for an exchange but used the excuse of "no coverage" to get out of it.

Please advise.

I appreciate your help but I cannot reply to your private message currently due to forum restrictions - I don't have privileges to use private messaging at this time. I have already described the problem I'm having with my phone above in the first post.
