cannot process your transaction byop

Bought an unlocked ATT galaxy s6 and a sim card to fit, first set up went smoothly but when i was told to shut it off to complete activation, it never was activated. and now when i try to enter the SIM card info it either says its in use, or we cannot process your transaction. Im trying to keep my old phone number. the s6 device wont even show up on inactive devices, just the sim card but when i try to activate it i cant......... :evil:
