Refurbished Samsung T404g

Hello Everyone

I have a questioned I purchased a Samsung Refurbished SCH T404g Slider Phone....and it seems to not have the basic functions as my friend who purchased the same model brand new....she has all these basic functions like signature in text message, the ability to set different ring tones for each text , VM, Picture, Incoming.....not with the refurbish one....do any of you know why Straight Talk restricted many of the basic functions on the refurbished one?

Doest this phone supports apps. I was searching for this one, but did not find any result.
