W418G White Screen (of death, presumably)

Hi ST,

I have the Motorola W418G--the latest and greatest in flip phone technology. Onto my problem: What started out as a nuisance is now severely debilitating. The internal screen has gone completely white, preventing me from navigating with any acceptable degree of accuracy.

Two weeks ago, the external screen became perpetually white, then only yesterday, the display started to freeze at seemingly random times when I'd be reading my messages or the like. Now, the screen has gone completely white, preventing me from using my phone.

I've noticed many others have had this issue on the forum, but the solution has never been posted. It would be much quicker to have one thread that I can look up as opposed to many that end in "let's discuss this privately." Having said that, I eagerly await my private message!

Resurrecting this thread because I may have the same problem. I do have the same phone, the W418G, and it may be in the beginning stages of what the previous poster described. While the outer screen of the flip phone is still capable of a display -- when it charges, for instance, the charging status appears -- the date/time, etc. have all disappeared, and for an incoming call, the window lights up but has no info on it. Not sure if this counts as a "white screen," but it's at the least a "blank screen." If it's merely a worn out display, and the rest of the phone continues to function normally, I can live with having to flip it open to check the time -- or if I have any missed calls/texts, for that matter; if this is the fledgling stage of total disfunction, however, then I'd like to know what the magic fix is, if there is one. (I've not encountered any freezing screens in the approx. 2 years I've had the phone.)
