After update Moto E has lost data

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a Motorola Moto E gen 2 unlocked for a Verizon pre-paid plan from Best Buy. I then called straight talk and order the proper sim card for it. I got everything activated and it work perfectly for the first two weeks I used it. Yesterday I got a notice on the phone that there was an update ready to be downloaded and installed. After delaying this a couple of times, I finally let it install the update, which I "think" was from android OS 5.0 to 5.1 but I'm not sure. My problem is after the update I have no 3/4G service whatsoever, the data just does not work. Voice and text still work just no data. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Were you able to get this situation resolved? I'm having a similar issue with a MotoX 2013 on Verizon CDMA. Updated to Android 5.1 and my data disappeared.

Just a quick heads up for anyone that finds this page via google or whatnot, I contacted the customer service chat. The representative did some updating or something on their end and had me restart my phone. After it restarted, I had a normal data connection and it's been running perfectly fine for the last half hour so I imagine that the situation has resolved. My phone was a CDMA MotoX 2013 that I had just upgraded to Android 5.1 Lollipop, but I imagine that the situation is pretty much the same with the Moto G or Moto E. So, obviously I am pretty happy that it was resolved so quickly.
Good luck to anyone else having this issue. Hopefully it'll be resolved as easily for you as it was for me.

update usually cause data loss for a lot of reasons. SO you'd better backup before update. Since your data is already lost, you can recover it by some app.
