Droid Razr Maxx HD (Model XT912) on Straight Talk

I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD (Model XT912) that was with Verzion. It is no longer in contract with them. I have read on other forums that once you remove the SIM card that it will unlock the phone. I have checked Straight Talks website and if I use the "Unlocked" option then you say it will work, but if I use the option of "Other Carrier" then it wont work... I have already purchased the activation kit with the AT&T and T-Mobile SIM cards but I am not getting it to work... I have also checked and I know that there is changes that has to be made in the settings with the Mobile Networks and APN's. So what I can tell is that this will work with someone that knows what they are doing, but that person is not me... I am needing some technical help. Thanks.

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. I have a Droid Razr Maxx model XT912. I talked to a person from Verizon and they told me that once you take out their SIM card, the phone becomes unlocked. According to your website, my phone is compatible under the 'unlocked' option. I have already purchased the SIM card set and added the T-Mobile card (since the paper said that either would work with an unlocked phone). I went through the process of activating the new SIM card, while attempting to keep my old Verizon number. I did this several hours ago but my phone still wont work. Please help!

I am to having trouble to figure out how to "unlock" my Droid Razr (Model XT912). I really love this phone and I was told that you could unlock it and turn it into straight talk. I just need help on how to do that. The tech place here can't do it because they don't have that software just yet to unlock it. I have done research and saw that you can put in a code? Or something like that also was told from Verizon like the other two have said before about just taking out the sims card but I'm not sure if that will even unlock it to switch carriers. My phone is not activate either. Just if somebody could direct me into the right direction I would really appreciate that! Thanks

I am also having the same problem as well. I have a Droid Razr (Model xt912) that I have done research and it can be "unlocked' for I would be able to switch it to Straight Talk. I also looked up on the Straight Talk BYOP and it says if its unlocked I can switch it to Straight Talk. I just need help on what direction I need to go to to get my phone unlocked to be able to switch it over to Straight Talk. The phone is not activate right now with Verizon. I heard about the whole pulling just the SIM card out to unlock it but I didn't think it is that easy. Can somebody just help me get my phone unlocked for i can switch over to Straight talk! Please!!

Thanks Larry. I am on Verizon now and my contract is up. I saw a new law was passed that allows unlocking phones, can ST unlock my phone when I switch over? I put my phone in your compatibility checker and is says it is compatible if it is unlocked, I just need to know how to get it unlocked now. Thanks.
