MMS & iPhone 4

MMS & iPhone 4

Postby komentra » Fri Feb 15, 2013 10:13 am

I have a unlocked 32gb iPhone 4. I've tried everything to get MMS working.

Here is what I've tried:

1. This guide: http://bit.ly/YjBn3m - Guide works and MMS works but usually after a few days it stops working. I also end up losing Data and you have to do the guide all over again (which is a tedious process).

2. unlockit.co.nz - I use this and create & install a Straight Talk APN profile. This works for Data (which I also lose after a few days) but does not work for MMS.

3. And a friend told me to install this APN http://iapnupdateatt.straighttalk.com and with this APN neither MMS or Data work.

4. Visited straighttalksim.com from my phone's browser and installed the APN settings and that got data to work but MMS still doesn't work.

I was hoping since Straight Talk carries the iPhone now it would have official support but it doesn't seem to be the case. Close to just going back to AT&T again.

Anyone got any tips?

I have an iPhone 4S and no MMS. I installed unlockit, a ST rep told me to install the ST APN changer.. When I did that I didn't have data or MMS, so I reinstalled unlockit. I then called ST and was told I could not get MMS at all.

That should really be mentioned on the "Bring Your Own Phone" page otherwise it's misleading people. Anyways, I've heard of people getting MMS working on iPhone 4S with the first step I tried. Worth giving a shot.

unfortunately the only way I have found to get mms and web data working is to jailbreak  but it isn't that hard to do.

Yes that should be mentioned. No one ever post if a problem is resolved.

Doesn't look like it. They seem like a incompetent company who claims to support phones they actually can't support.

This pretty much describes my problem with my Iphone 4 also. MMS will work for a while, then suddenly stop.
My phone is jailbroken but I have restored it and tried it with the iapnupdate.straighttalk.com profile.........still no MMS. Re-jailbroke and still no MMS.
Can we please just get some APN settings that will work permanently?
