BYOP Program

Postby bjbolton10 » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:36 am

When straight says an AT&T compatible phone will work with the BYOP program does that mean that it doesn't have to be unlocked?

I see alot of people getting the iphones and transfering them to the BYOP program, but why is the data not working once they activate it and enter the apn settings?

Hi bjbolton10. You will need to update the APN settings for the MMS and browser to work. You may refer to your phone's manual on how to do that. Thanks!

I emailed ST about a 10 days ago re: iphone 3s being used. They said new program BYOP. Went to Walmart and they said that they can't use my phone because it's ATT service and I have to have their permission. I am not under a contract with ATT and I bought the phone from Apple so why can't I use it. I don't want to invest in an iphone 5 until I see how the coverage in my area is. I am not familiar with ST. Why can't I us my current phone?

I'm not on the BYOP Program. I just purchased a straight talk phone from wall mart almost three Weeks ago on the $45 unlimited plan and I have NO DATA. Regular text and calls only. I want what I paid for.
