new phones for the verizon side

I was wondering when the new phone for the verizon side is coming out. Also have AT&T and Verizon merged. Are the maps on the boxes for AT&T blue and red for Verizon? My husband and I both have Straight Talkand we love it, but we would like new phones and we were told that there is a touch screen phone coming out for the Verizon side this year and we were wondering when and how much they will be.
